# The reading list

> Evermore Aesthetics reading shelf — The Evermore Aesthetics reading list: original collagen, skin-penetration and hair papers alongside GHK-Cu reviews.

**The source shelf**

Culture dishes, skin preparations and people appear in different places in this collection.

## A route through the collection

For the most contained experiment, begin with [collagen synthesis in human fibroblast cultures](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3169264/). The [tissue-remodelling review](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18644225/) then widens the subject to the proteins and signals involved in repair.

The [skin-regeneration review](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4508379/) and the [topical anti-wrinkle review](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11830136/) collect the cosmetic material. They are syntheses of other work. Reviews occupy their own shelf in my estimation, apart from a single experiment.

## Delivery and hair

The [human-skin penetration paper](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3016279/) follows copper in skin outside the body. The [human GHK combination hair trial](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4969472/) measures hair-count changes, while the [AHK-Cu follicle study](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/17703734/) concerns a related molecule in laboratory settings.

My affection for this collection lies in those changes of scale. The papers do more interesting work when they are allowed to remain distinct.
